Translate numerical values to different number systems
Math geeks and programmers who want to know how a number looks like in different number systems
There are four rows of boxes with labels on the left of each: DEC, OCT, HEX, BIN – short for decimal, binary, hexadecimal and octal number systems.
The same labels are on a row of buttons at the bottom of the screen, which you use to select which box to enter your number in. Directly below is a row of letter buttons A-F, which will be activated when you select the HEX button. That’s because the hexadecimal number system uses letters too!
Once you’ve selected your number system of choice, key in whatever number you want and the other three boxes will display a corresponding expression of the number according to their system.
Handy for programmers and computer geeks; that’s because computers use other number systems, like binary numbers to store data and hexadecimal numbers to store colours, for example!
If you are looking for a unit converter instead, give this app a miss – this app converts number systems, not units.
