Viewing historic microscopic studies of insects and plants.
Robert Hooke (1635–1703) was a scientist, biologist and founding member of the Royal Society in Britain, devoted to scientific discovery.
This app contains excerpts from his important book, Micrographia. Published in 1665, it was the first important work on microscopy, the study of tiny objects through a microscope.
There is introductory text, and 4 high-resolution illustrations of some of the insects and plants Hooke studied under the microscope.
There is a horizontal menu bar with 5 sections: Text, Flea, Fly, Louse and Nettles.
The 4 illustrations are of superb quality and fascinating to look at.
If you want to move to the next section in the horizontal menu bar from the Text section, you can’t simply scroll over with the cursor. You have to scroll up through the entire body of text to reach the horizontal menu bar, then only can you scroll to a new menu item.
