Good for:
People who are lost when it’s sunny
How it works:
The app asks you to select if you are in the Northern Hemisphere or Southern Hemisphere. It also depends heavily on sunlight or bright light to use the compass. You are required to hold the phone horizontally, facing sunlight, in order to start using the compass.
The good:
This app saves you the weight of carrying a real compass, should you need one.
The bad:
The app doesn’t work in darker areas, or even inside homes. If you really are lost, you have to look for sunlight first to get the app working, so not useful if you’re lost in a shady forest or on a cloudy day.
